Teaching
For me, teaching is an extension of creating.
The fiber arts I practice have a long-standing tradition of being passed from person to person, and having been the recipient of so much generously shared knowledge, it is my pleasure to pass it along in turn to others.
I teach weaving and fiber arts to both adults and children in workshop settings all over Appalachia. I have taught everything from week-long weaving camps at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts to forty-minute visiting artist lessons at Randolph County Elementary schools with Artsbank Inc. No matter the setting, creating together with students is always an inspiring experience that fills me with hope as I watch their skills and creativity blossom.
